Mission Statement
The purpose of Santo Domingo Family Services is to provide a wide range of family-orientated services to promote healthy families, as well as promoting safety and wellness for all Santo Domingo children and families.
Santo Domingo Family Services has several programs under the department that includes:
Tribal Social Services,
ICWA,
Tribal Governments OVW,
Family Violence Prevention Services Act (FVPSA),
Title IVB-1 Child Welfare,
IVB-2 Promoting Safe;
Stable Families
The programs provide direct services to children, families, victims, survivors, and individuals who are determined to be in need. The services include:
Child welfare,
Child protection,
Adult protection,
Child and Family services,
General Assistance,
Crisis Response on child abuse & neglect,
Joint investigations with Law Enforcement,
Home studies,
Kinship placement,
Comprehensive culturally relevant case management,
Information and referrals,
Application assistance to SNAP, LIHEAP, Medicaid, etc.
Case coordination and collaboration with Children, Youth, and Families Department when children are in State custody in accordance with federal ICWA and the newly enacted Indian Family Protection Act.
Additionally, services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, family violence, sex assault, stalking and teen dating violence includes crisis response, shelter placement, transportation for medical, and court, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, court advocacy, protection orders, emotional support, and supportive services.
Several of the program provides prevention awareness and education to community members on child abuse; neglect, domestic violence, substance abuse, healthy relationships, teen dating violence, supportive families, internet safety, self-care, mental health, etc
